"Palarong Pinoy" 2007 - AFET Sports Fest Opening Ceremony

AFET held its annual Sports Fest dubbed as the "Palarong Pinoy 2007" on May 13, 2007, 1:00PM at the Gedung Matahari Terbit (GMT) Gymnasium within the compound of the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL) in front of the Parliament building.
This annual event of sports competition has been a testament of gathering Filipinos here in Timor Leste fostering solidarity, fellowship and camaraderie through sports. This has been a venue for displaying skills and talents of Filipinos in the area of sports and promotes the spirit of sportsmanship.
There were also booths for the Health Assistance Program (blood pressure taking), Membership campaign (releasing of the new AFET ID) and Food Fair (pagkaing pinoy). Two basketball game matches highlighted the first day of the AFET sporst festival.
The overall opening ceremony was a success with almost 300 Pinoy kababayans, friends and guests from Timor-Leste, who graced this spectacular sports event of the year.
